Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 14, 2026

The Phonebook is a product of Seamless Contacts, Inc. ("Seamless," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information in connection with the The Phonebook mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), and the choices and rights you have. It applies in addition to the Seamless.AI Privacy Policy and State Consumer Privacy Policy; where this Policy and the Seamless.AI Privacy Policy address the same topic for The Phonebook, this Policy controls for the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

Your privacy choices in one place. To access, correct, delete, or download your information, to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or to request removal of a business contact record that appears in the Service, use the Seamless.AI Privacy Request Center at preferences.seamless.ai. We honor verified requests as required by applicable law.

1. Scope & Who We Are

This Policy covers information we process about (a) users of the Service (people who create an account or use the app), and (b) business professionals whose business contact information appears in our database and search results. The data controller / business is Seamless Contacts, Inc. References to "personal information" include "personal data" under the EU/UK GDPR and equivalent terms under U.S. state privacy laws.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication details. Authentication is handled by our identity provider (Clerk); we never receive or store your password.

Profile & onboarding answers

Information you provide during onboarding — such as your role, use case, team, and goals — which we use to personalize your experience.

Search & usage activity

The searches you run, filters you apply, profiles you view or save, and features you use. We use this to provide search history, operate and secure the Service, and improve results.

Contacts you choose to share (Contributory Network)

If — and only if — you grant access to your device's contacts, we upload entries from your address book to power our contributory network, which improves the accuracy and coverage of business contact data across the Service.

This is entirely optional. You can decline at sign-up and the app works without it. You can revoke access at any time in your device Settings → Privacy & Security → Contacts. Granting access also lets you save contacts you find directly to your phone.

Contact data we may collect when you opt in includes names, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, company and job titles, dates (such as birthdays), and related fields stored in your address book. We hash email addresses and phone numbers so records can be matched without exposing them in plain text within our systems.

Business contact data in our database

To operate the Service, we maintain a database of business / professional contact information — such as names, job titles, employers, business email addresses, business phone numbers, professional social profiles, and work history. This information generally relates to individuals in their professional or business capacity. See Section 3 for sources.

Subscription & transaction data

Subscriptions are processed by Apple via in-app purchase and managed through our subscription provider (RevenueCat). We receive subscription status, plan, and transaction identifiers. We do not collect or store your full payment card or Apple Account credentials — those are handled by Apple.

Device, log & diagnostic data

Standard analytics and reliability data such as app interactions, device type and OS version, IP address, identifiers, and crash diagnostics (via PostHog and Sentry). With your permission, a push token (via OneSignal) to deliver notifications.

Communications

Messages you send us (support requests, feedback) and records of our correspondence.

3. Sources of Contact Data

The business contact information in the Service is compiled from:

4. How We Use Information

Legal bases (EEA/UK). Where GDPR applies, we process personal data based on: performance of a contract; our legitimate interests (operating, securing, and improving a B2B service and maintaining a business-contact database), balanced against your rights; your consent (e.g., contacts access, push notifications), which you may withdraw; and compliance with legal obligations.

5. How We Share Information

We share information only as described below:

6. "Sale," "Sharing," & Targeted Advertising

Some U.S. state privacy laws (e.g., California's CCPA/CPRA) define "sale" and "sharing" broadly. Because the Service makes business contact information available to subscribers, certain disclosures of personal information may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under those laws. We do not sell the personal information of our account holders, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of minors.

You have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. To exercise these rights, use the Seamless.AI Privacy Request Center (preferences.seamless.ai). We also honor opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control) where required.

7. Your Privacy Rights & How to Exercise Them

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to: know/access the personal information we hold; correct inaccuracies; delete your information; obtain a portable copy; opt out of "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising; limit use of sensitive information; and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. EEA/UK residents additionally have rights to object to or restrict processing and to withdraw consent.

8. Individuals Featured in the Service (Non-Users)

If your business contact information appears in the Service and you are not a user, you can still exercise your rights — including requesting access, correction, deletion, or to opt out of "sale"/"sharing" — through the Seamless.AI Privacy Request Center at preferences.seamless.ai. You do not need an account to submit a request.

9. FCRA Notice

The Phonebook is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq., and the information it provides is not a consumer report. You may not use the Service or any data for any FCRA-regulated purpose, including determining eligibility for credit or insurance, employment, housing, a license or benefit, or any other purpose subject to the FCRA. Information is intended for legitimate business verification and professional outreach only.

10. Data Retention

We retain account and usage information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as required for legitimate business purposes (such as security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance). Business contact data is retained as needed to operate the database and is updated or removed in response to verified requests. When you delete your account, we delete your account profile and contributed contacts, subject to legal retention requirements.

11. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit and at rest, hashed identifiers, access controls, and monitoring — to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work diligently to protect your data and continuously improve our controls.

12. International Data Transfers

We operate in the United States, and information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

13. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third parties that process data under their own terms and privacy policies, including Apple (in-app purchases), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Clerk (authentication), AWS (hosting), PostHog (analytics), Sentry (diagnostics), OneSignal (push), Anthropic (AI), and Resend (email). Links to third-party sites are not covered by this Policy.

14. Children

The Service is intended for business use and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date, and will provide additional notice of material changes through the Service where required.

16. Contact Us

Questions about this Policy or your data? Email support@thephonebook.ai (product support) or privacy@seamless.ai (privacy office). To submit a privacy request, use the Seamless.AI Privacy Request Center at preferences.seamless.ai.
